What will I learn? Key information Course SummaryThis two day training course is designed to prepare candidates for ACS Gas CCN1 assessment. It enables prospective gas engineers to gain more experience before assessment and provides refresher training to those about to undertake a reassessment. Entry RequirementsThere are no entry requirements for this programme as it is preparatory in nature. Please note: Where wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a mandatory requirement of the course, it is the responsibility of the learner to ensure that they are able to wear such equipment. Qualification ObtainedNon regulated provision, Level 3, Building and Construction Learning and Teaching MethodsThe candidate will cover training in the following areas: - Gas safety legislation and standards. Gas emergency actions and procedures Products and characteristics of combustion (including. combustion performance analysis) Ventilation Tightness testing and purging Checking and/or setting meter regulators. Unsafe situations, emergency notices and warning labels Installation of fittings and pipework Operation and positioning of emergency isolation controls and valves Checking and setting appliance burner pressures and gas rates Operation and checking of appliance gas safety devices and controls Chimney Standards Chimney inspection and testing Installation of open, balanced and fan assisted chimneys Re-establish existing gas supply and relight appliances Inspect, test, commission and maintain gas appliances Plus optional appliances:- CENWAT – domestic boilers and water heaters HTR1 – gas fires and heaters CKR1 – gas cookers Training is also given to ensure that the candidate has the underpinning knowledge to complete the written sections when completing the assessment.
