Course SummaryThe most important part of the role is developing fantastic ‘hospitality’ skills and knowledge such as recognising customer needs, knowing how to match them to the products and services of the business and working as part of a team to ensure that every customer, whether they are eating in a restaurant, drinking cocktails in a bar, ordering room service in a hotel or attending a business conference feels welcomed and looked after. You will need to have a suitable role before you start but we can support you to find one if necessary. , Entry RequirementsThese vary from employer to employer. The typical requirements are 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or higher. Qualification ObtainedCertificate in Skills for Further Education and Employment Industry Placement and Field TripsYou will need to be employed full-time with a relevant contract of employment. Your employer will also need to agree to our Skills Coach and Specialist Practitioner being able to visit you at your place of work. Learning and Teaching MethodsThe focus of this apprenticeship is to develop your expertise in areas such as customer care, service etiquette, health and safety, legislation and practical hospitality in your chosen area. Your apprenticeship is delivered entirely in the workplace, with teaching delivered through online resources and on a 1-2-1 basis by your skills coach and employer. Expert Tutors All staff involved in the delivery of adult education courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice. Assessment MethodsThe focus of this apprenticeship is to develop your expertise in areas such as customer care, service etiquette, health and safety, legislation and practical hospitality in your chosen area. At the end of your apprenticeship, you will need to demonstrate your skills, knowledge and behaviours across the above areas via the following assessments: • 90 minute on demand test • 2 hour practical observation • Business Project Career Options and ProgressionThis apprenticeship will support you to progress into the following roles: • Bar Supervisor • Assistant Housekeeper • Senior Chef Production Cook • Assistant Receptionist Once you have successfully completed your apprenticeship you can progress onto a level 3 Hospitlaity Supervisor or Senior Chef Production Cooking.
