Course Overview

If you are at least 19 years old, looking for a career change and have been out of education and training for a long time, this course is the ideal starting point on your journey to a rewarding career in the automotive industry.

This 18-week Vehicle Accident Repair course is designed to provide you with an insight into life as a Vehicle Technician working in the Vehicle Body Repair and Paint industry, and to help you develop the knowledge and skills required to progress onto higher levels.

This Level 1 Vehicle Body Repair and Paint course is mainly practical, with training taking place in our £10 million Advanced Technology Centre. 

Entry Requirements

You must be aged at least 19 on or before 30 September 2020 and you must be able to attend one full day a week.

There are no formal qualification entry requirements, but you should have reasonably good levels of English and maths.

Teaching and Learning Methods

You will be taught by tutors who have a wealth of industry experience and a passion for passing on their skills and experiences. Your tutors will get to know how you learn best and tailor their teaching methods to your needs.

This course is mainly practical and is delivered in the following ways (hours shown are weekly:

•    Motor Vehicle Body Repair and Paint Practical (workshop – 5 hours)
•    Motor Vehicle Body Repair and Paint Theory (classroom – 2 hours)
•    Independent Study (2 hours)

The environment is supportive and includes regular target setting and reviews.
