Animal Science - Level 3
Course Code: ES1FE0019
With the endless benefits of animals being used in medicine and health care, the North West has become an area of high growth for careers in the animal industry (EMSI, 2017).
This course is designed to provide school leavers with the skills necessary to apply for a wide variety of careers working with animals, including guaranteed progression onto our Marine Biology BSc (Hons) degree programme, subject to completion criteria.
Students will learn about specifics of animal biology, interaction, training, behaviour and grooming, and conservation through a range of practical and theoretical sessions. You will develop employability skills in partnership with local work experience placements and will be required to demonstrate your learning with your own pet as part of the course!
The science team consists of enthusiastic and student-focused staff, who are fully committed to the success of the students and the overall success of the course.
You will need GCSE Science at grade 4 (previously grade C) and GCSE Maths and English at grades 4-5/C, or equivalent qualifications.
