Course Overview
This Level 2 certificated course is aimed at candidates working in the general engineering or energy industries and who now want to develop their welding skills so as to advance their career.
This course aims to improve and enhance current welding skills, confidence, competence and knowledge, with the aim of progressing to customised welding tests or codings and higher formal qualifications.
The course consists of two units:
- Unit 201 -Tungsten Arc Gas Shielded (TIG/TAG)
- Unit 205 - Metal Arc Gas Shielded (MIG/MAG).
Entry Requirements
This course is aimed at candidates with current welding experience and who are looking, through additional development, to increase their knowledge, confidence, competence and skills.

Teaching and Learning Methods
This 14-week course is delivered in our industrial welding workshop at LEHQ by expert instructors accredited by The Welding Institute (TWI).
Learning is very practically orientated.
Two evenings (Wednesday and Thursday) per week from 6pm to 9pm for 14 weeks.
There is no requirement for independent learning on this course.

The approval process ensures that staff delivering and/or assessing a given programme are appropriately qualified, with relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
