Watercolours for Beginners
Course Code: GC2EC813
Next available course:
This course introduces you to the techniques of painting using watercolours. In the first week an initial assessment will ensure you are on the correct level of course.
This course is intended as an introduction (and thorough grounding) for those with little experience of watercolour painting. In term 1 you will explore watercolour basics such as using brushes, paper mixing, making different tones, and stretching and preparing paper perspectives.
You will need an interest in developing your skills in this medium.
Teaching and Learning Methods
This is a practical two-hour session held in our art workshop. There will be practical demonstrations and you will be expected to participate in practical activities each week, with specialist tutor guidance and support.
Your project work and assessments (formative/weekly and summative/end-of-term) will be set by your tutor. You are encouraged to practise at home but we understand this might not always be possible with out-of-class commitments.
