Course Overview

This is a transitional course to enable students without the pre requisite of 5 GCSE at grade 4 to gain the necessary skills to gain a T Level.


Are you interested in a career in games development, networking or web technologies? Our computing courses equip you with the skills required to work in these technology expanding industries. There are many employability opportunities within the computing industry and at Blackpool and The Fylde College we have a wide range of courses that will provide you with the specialised industry based skills required to work in the sector of your choice. In your year course you will study a range of topics including:

Games programming
Setting up an IT system
3D generated graphics
Python development
Team working 
Games design

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 2 GCSEs or a relevant Level 1 qualification.

All 16-18 year old applicants will be invited to attend an interview to meet a tutor and ask any questions they may have about the course

Teaching and Learning Methods

Teaching and learning differs for each module, with practical units incorporating a summative assignment that results in product creation. Students are initially supported by demonstrations and walkthroughs and later by a workshop/individual focus intended to foster creativity. Modules are delivered by specialised subject specialists with industry experience.
