It will provide the learners with the opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of the sector whilst acting as a stepping stone that will lead some learners into studying cyber security at a higher level. Entry RequirementsWhilst there are no formal entry requirements, you should have a foundational understanding of computers and written English together with good communication skills. Qualification ObtainedCertificate in the Principles of Cyber Security Industry Placement and Field TripsNone Learning and Teaching MethodsThis course is delivered on site at the Bispham campus on a Wednesday evening over six weeks. In addition to onsite teaching, an element of online independent study (around 4 hours per week) is also required by each student to consolidate learning and complete assessment tasks. On site sessions will be a mixture of tutor led sessions, demonstrations, group work tasks, individual tasks, and group discussions. Modules/subjects covered include: Introduction to cyber security Understand terminology used in cyber security Understand legal and ethical aspects of cyber security Understand common threats to cyber security Understand methods of maintaining cyber security Understand working with others in cyber security Students will create a portfolio of evidence generated from appropriate assessment tasks to demonstrate achievement of all the learning outcomes associated with each unit.
