Course Overview

The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age with applied knowledge in the early years (0-5 years).

Upon successful completion of this qualification learners can enter the workforce as a qualified Level 2 Early Years Practitioner or continue to study for a Level 3 Diploma holding Early Years Educator status. 

Entry Requirements

No previous training or experience is required for this programme but you must be at least 19.

You must have a placement in a relevant early years setting and be able to attend a minimum of 6 hours a week.

Teaching and Learning Methods

You will attend College for a 4 ½ hour session, weekly (term-time only) for 18 weeks.

Within these sessions there will be tutor delivery, questions and answers, discussion, observation, group work tasks and individual tasks.

It is expected that you will complete a minimum of 3 hours’ independent study each week, outside of the class, to complete your assignments.
