Course Overview

This qualification (NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care) develops the knowledge and skills needed when working in a lead adult care worker role in care settings.

This qualification provides learners with in-depth knowledge and skills of working within the adult care sector.

Within the course, learners will attend a class once a week for 4.5 hours, term time only for 20 weeks.

Learners will be required to work or volunteer within the adult care sector for a minimum of 6 hours a week.

This qualification will not only support employment opportunities, but also the possibility of progressing on to the Foundation degree in Health and Social Care.

You will also be assigned a college assessor, to assist in completion of the observations and discussions that take place within your placement setting.

Entry Requirements

You must be at least 19 years of age to apply for this course.

You will need to be in a placement, which relates to adult care for a minimum of 6 hours a week (this can be working or volunteering) and you must have achieved a Level 2 qualification, which relates to adult care.

You will attend college for a 3 hour session on a Tuesday (9:45-12:45pm), weekly (term-time only) for 30 weeks.

Within these sessions there will be tutor delivery, question and answer, discussion, observation, group work tasks and individual tasks.

It is expected that you will complete a minimum of 4.5 hours independent study, each week, outside of the class to complete your assignments.
