Course Overview

This qualification aims to give learners knowledge of different Specific Learning Difficulties, how they are diagnosed and how individuals can be supported.

The qualification can be used by a wide range of learners looking to improve their knowledge and awareness in this subject area.

It is suitable for suitable for both current and aspiring teaching staff, learning support staff and teaching assistants or anyone looking to build their knowledge of dyslexia and other learning difficulties.

Entry Requirements

No previous training or experience is required for this programme but you must be at least 19.

Teaching and Learning Methods

You will attend college for a 3 hour session weekly (term-time only) for 10 weeks.

Evening and daytimes session will be available at different times of the academic year.

Within these sessions there will be tutor delivery, question and answer, discussion, observation, group work tasks and individual tasks.

It is expected that you will complete a minimum of 3 hours independent study, each week, outside of the class to complete your assignments.
