Course Overview

The Level 4 qualification is aimed at NVQ/QCF assessors who would like to become Internal Quality Assurers.

An Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) is the person who supports and works with a team of Assessors to sample and quality assure work produced, develop assessment procedures and facilitate good practice.

The expected duration is 6-12 months.

An informal chat with a tutor will be required prior to your enrolment.

Teaching and Learning Methods

You will:

  • attend seminar sessions at College, where possible (usually 4 or 5 sessions, one per month, twilight or evening class) 
  • attend ongoing 1-2-1 meetings/observations with your tutor/assessor, throughout the whole period of study, usually monthly
  • build a portfolio of evidence (OneFile eportfolio) to meet the standards which will consist of work-based & classroom based evidence and observations.

You will be supported in this by a Skills Coach from the Apprenticeships team.

Additional learning support is available if required.
