Key information Course SummaryThis one-day introductory course to aromatherapy massage allows students to learn the key techniques involved in using pre-blended aromatherapy oils to tailor a bespoke massage treatment for their clients You will learn how to use various techniques to achieve different therapeutic effects depending on whether clients request a relaxing or invigorating message. You will also learn about the health and safety considerations when using essential oils, when aromatherapy massage would not be an appropriate treatment for someone and how to ensure you don't put your own body under stress or strain whilst carrying out the massage. We will discuss how to prepare the work area, what products, tools and equipment you will need to carry out an aromatherapy massage safely and effectively and what aftercare advice to give to clients This course is ideal if you want to add pre-blended aromatherapy massage to a list of treatments you already offer or if you want to find out more about aromatherapy before committing to a more comprehensive aromatherapy course which will teach you how to make bespoke blends tailored to each individual client. Learning and Teaching MethodsWe employ a variety of teaching techniques to ensure that this covers everyone's preferred learning style. As the course is largely practical in nature, tutor demonstrations followed by student practice sessions form a large part of the curriculum. The course is taught in our newly refurbished beauty therapy training facilities which are intended to mimic the kinds of working environment that students are likely to encounter in the workplace and will be taught by industry-expert tutors who have extensive experience working in the beauty industry. Please note that you may be expected to model for the treatment and/or bring your own model for the purposes of training. If you are new to the industry and do not have a uniform, please wear plain black trousers, a plain black short sleeved top and flat black shoes.
