Course Summary This AAT qualification is a competence-based qualification that gives you the relevant and practical skills to do a wide range of accounting and finance jobs. In this qualification you will master more complex accounting disciplines including financial processes, advanced bookkeeping, final accounts and ethical practices for accountants. This qualification is currently equivalent to 160 UCAS points and may support your application to university. Entry Requirements It is expected that you will already hold the AAT Level 2 Certificate. However, some may be eligible to begin at AAT Level 3 depending upon accounting qualifications already held and or work experience. Qualification Obtained Advanced Diploma in Accounting - Level 3 The AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting consists of six mandatory units: Advanced Bookkeeping Final Accounts Preparation Indirect Tax Management Accounting: Costing Ethics for Accountants Spreadsheets for Accounting Learning and Teaching Methods Workroom based teaching and in computer suites for practice accounting sessions. Sessions are delivered by highly qualified industry accountants. Expert Tutors All staff involved in the delivery of adult education courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice. Assessment Methods You will be assessed through time-constrained competence-based projects and external online examinations throughout the programme, including the synoptic assessment (final examination). Membership is mandatory in order to be registered for examinations, which are an essential element of this course. If you are not already a member, you will be expected to join within the first 4 weeks of study and there is a one-off administration fee / reinstatement fee to be paid direct to the AAT along with an annual membership. The current membership fees are accessible via the AAT website: Should you not pass your examination the first time, you will have to pay a re-sit fee.
