Course Overview

Term 1: Introduction to Printmaking

Thursday 23 September to 11 November 2021 (7 weeks) [No class 28 October]

6.00pm to 8.00pm

Cost per person £110

During this exciting and dynamic course you will be introduced to a broad range of printmaking techniques including mono-print, dry point, lino and screen print. You will learn how to select and use appropriate tools and printing presses for each process you explore. You will gain an understanding of the variety of printing papers available and how to prepare them for printing. Your learning will be supported through demonstration, one to one tuition, samples and examples for each process and references to contemporary printmakers.

This course is suitable for anyone new to printmaking or wanting a refresher. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to use each process with confidence and progress to Intermediate Printmaking in term two or focus on developing your knowledge of screen print in term three.
