Entry requirements - higher education

Our course pages give information on the entry requirements for individual courses. These are mostly given in terms of UCAS Tariff points and some of the other more common qualifications.

While some academic requirements are mandatory, we want to help you succeed no matter your situation or background. B&FC will endeavour wherever possible to be flexible to your needs.

We will wherever possible consider applicants with relevant work/voluntary experience, in place of academic results. You will be invited to an information, advice and guidance session where we can discuss your options with you.

Blackpool School of Arts

You will be invited to attend an audition or workshop for all courses within Blackpool School of Arts or you can forward your work to us electronically. We will let you know what you need to prepare for this.

PGCE

PGCE applicants must hold an honours degree with a minimum of a 2:2 classification and GCSE English grade 4 (previously grade C) or above. GCSE Maths grade 4 (previously grade C) or above is preferred. However, if you do not have GCSE Maths you will be encouraged to study this alongside the PGCE.

On meeting these requirements you will be invited to attend a professional discussion with the Teacher Education Team and we will advise you of what you need to prepare for this.

International students

If you are an international student you will need to forward copies of your certificates to enable us to equate your qualifications to ensure you meet the entry requirements of your chosen course. You must also meet the required level of IELTS for UKVI (a minimum of 5.5 in each of the four components with an overall score of 6.0).

Applications must be received by 31 May to allow us the time required to process.
