Employers are no longer just looking for a good grade; they want to find well-rounded graduates who can demonstrate the attributes needed to succeed at work. At B&FC, we embed employability skills in the curriculum and provide opportunities for you to develop personally in order to compete for your chosen career.
Our Degree Plus scheme allows you to identify and hone the skills and attributes needed for your future career. A big part of that is the HEAR but we also offer the opportunity to develop your employability and community skills, improve your English and Maths (if needed) and work towards a recognised B&FC award.
The HEAR (short for Higher Education Achievement Report) is an electronic record of all your achievements at B&FC. It’s a great way to show potential employers what you’ve got to offer that’s different to everyone else. It also helps you become more self-aware and focus on getting the most out of your time here.
Work with employers
Our partnership work with employers is the envy of the sector and recently earned us a Queen’s Anniversary Prize. We involve employers in course design as well as course delivery, through work placements and live assignments, so you become skilled at applying your subject to real life.
