National Gaming Academy

Train for a career in the gaming industry and travel to some of the world’s most exotic destinations.

In just five weeks, we’ll teach you the specialist skills needed to start a successful career as a croupier. You’ll learn how to deal American Roulette, Blackjack and one of the many varieties of poker as well as develop high quality customer service skills. 

Alternatively, you could gain the specialist skills needed to start a successful career as a gaming machine attendant. You’ll learn all about gaming machine maintenance and fault diagnosis as well as develop high quality customer service skills.

All of the training takes place in our simulated casino environment, with expert tutors and guest speakers from industry providing a real-life learning experience that will adequately equip you for your future career.

Computing and Digital Technologies at B&FC

Computing is a growth sector in the North West and exciting career opportunities await those with the correct skill set, along with a high average salary and quick progression into senior roles. You'll need technical know-how, an eye for detail as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills to succeed in this industry. 

B&FC’s programmes are designed to help launch or advance your career in the IT, technical and networking industries. We’re the only college in the country whose BSc (Hons) Computing degrees are accredited by the British Computing Society (BCS) and our BCs (hons) Digital Technology Solutions is gold accredited through TechSkills. Teacher training at B&FC

B&FC offers several degree-level pathways towards a career in teaching - all the way through to a postgraduate qualification.

Choose the course that best suits your situation.

Education and Training Award (AET) - Level 3

The Education and Training Award is an ideal short course for anyone interested in training in the workplace or those who work in a support capacity in an education environment. 

The course is a great introduction to the theoretical skills and practical knowledge required to enable you to plan and deliver education and training.
 

Education and Training Diploma (DET) - Level 5

The Diploma in Education and Training Level 5 can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers and trainers, this includes:

  • If you are not currently teaching and training but can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed practice requirements of the qualification.
  • If you are currently teaching and training, including those who have just begun teaching and training and who can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed practice requirements of the qualification.
  • If you are currently working as an assessor and you wish to achieve a teaching qualification and who can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed practice of the qualification.

Post Graduate Certificate in Education - Level 7 PGCE

Train for a rewarding career in teaching with the Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

This nationally-recognised course combines teaching theory with 300 hours’ teaching and teaching-related practice to allow you to develop your own effective teaching style.

Teaching Assistance and Learning Support

The education sector is rewarding and enriching for those who love helping children to thrive and achieve their potential.

If you're yet to begin working in a school you might consider the role of teaching assistant (or classroom assistant). In this capacity you will work alongside teachers supervising activities and working with children in small groups or as a class.

Other teaching assistants work on a one-to-one basis helping youngsters with special educational needs.

Once you're working in the teaching and learning sector - either in a voluntary or paid capacity - you can continue your studies with us by specialising in learning support.

Our foundation degree in Teaching and Learning Support is a two-year course when you will develop a sound understanding of the principles underpinning the role of professionals within education and learn different approaches to solving problems at work.

Travel and tourism is a growing industry and exciting career opportunities await skilled individuals who are organised, work well under pressure and get on with people of all ages and backgrounds.
