In your year course you will study a range of topics including: • Games programming • Setting up an IT system • 3D generated graphics • Python development • Team working • Games design Entry RequirementsThis is a transitional course to enable students without the pre requisite of 5 GCSE at grade 4 to gain the necessary skills to gain a T Level. A minimum of 2 GCSEs or a relevant Level 1 qualification. • A successful interview with a tutor • The ability to study independently • A genuine interest in the subject • Good communication skills • Hardworking approach towards the industry All 16-18 year-old applicants will be invited to attend an interview to meet a tutor and ask any questions they may have about the course Essential Skills – English and Maths If you achieve a grade 3 in GCSE Maths or English you will have to work towards re-sitting these subjects as part of your main study programme. At B&FC, this won’t delay your career journey because you’re working towards these subjects at the same time as your chosen subject. Learning and Teaching MethodsTeaching and learning differs for each module, with practical units incorporating a summative assignment that results in product creation. Students are initially supported by demonstrations and walkthroughs and later by a workshop/individual focus intended to foster creativity. Modules are delivered by specialised subject specialists with industry experience. Facilities and resources are regularly updated to improve your experiences college and to match the needs of the course. Assessment MethodsThere will be no formal assessment, however students will be assessed by assignment and portfolio. Career Options and ProgressionOn completion of this course, learners will have to opportunity to progress to the T level Digital Production, Design and Development, Digital Support Services or Digital Business Services.
