Course SummaryThe purpose of the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Personal Care Needs is to give learners specialist knowledge to support their work within the health and social care sectors. Learners will gain knowledge and understanding by successfully completing the units required. This qualification is designed for anyone who is seeking to increase their knowledge both in theory and practical skills. Entry RequirementsNo previous training or experience is required for this programme, but you must be over 19 on the 31 August before the course start date. Qualification ObtainedCertificate in Understanding Personal Care Needs Industry Placement and Field TripsNo work placement is required. Learning and Teaching MethodsThe course is delivered 3 days a week over 6 weeks, from the course start date. This will be 5-hour classroom-based sessions with a specialist course tutor. The tutor will also be available for support and will guide you from the beginning to the completion of your qualification. Within these sessions there will be tutor delivery, question and answer, discussion, group work tasks and individual tasks. The assessment tasks take the form of an electronic workbook. You will also have access to a Virtual Learning Platform which will provide you with additional resources to support completion of the qualification. This qualification aims to: Focus on the study of personal care needs in the health and social care sectors Offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge The objective of this qualification is to: Give learners specialist knowledge of how to support an individual with personal care needs Assessment MethodsThis course is assessed in written assignments, Powerpoint presentations and case studies.
