Science - Fast Track to Degree

Fast-track to a degree qualification with this 20-week Level 3 Science course. Starting in January, the course has been co-created with employers to develop the skills needed to progress to degree-level study and employment. Taught by expert tutors with a wealth of industrial experience, the course develops your analytical, scientific and practical skills with an emphasis on applying your knowledge to the workplace. You will also develop key employability skills, such as problem-solving. Once you successfully complete the course, you will be guaranteed a place on either our Foundation Degree Human Biosciences or our Foundation Degree Marine Biology and Coastal Zone Management, starting in September.
To do this course, you will need GCSE Maths, English and Science at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent qualifications).

Teaching and Learning Methods
Our expert tutors use various learning and teaching methods to emphasise the link between knowledge and application, and to provide a motivating, supportive learning experience. These include lectures, demonstrations, guest speakers, practical investigations, seminars, workshops, tutorials, project work, supervised independent learning and online learning.
A combination of group work, individual learning and tutor-led sessions creates a well-rounded learning experience that caters to different learning styles.
Class-based sessions total 360 hours over the duration of the course.

All staff involved in the delivery of adult education courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
