Through this course you will design and construct an item(s) of your own choice and within your own capabilities, using colour and fabric creatively. This can be anything from a cushion (or even pincushion) to a full size window treatment. You may start with samples in order to build your confidence, before embarking on a main project. You will learn through observation, demonstrations, group work and practical projects, sharing ideas, skills and opinions.
Enthusiasm and a keen interest in sewing in order to create individual items for the home. Basic sewing skills would be an advantage but not essential.
Teaching and Learning Methods
This is a workshop style session where techniques will be demonstrated and students will work on individual projects with specialist guidance and support from the tutor.
