Blackpool and The Fylde College shortlisted as Training Provider of the Year at the Lancashire Apprenticeship Awards

As an organisation that champions technical and professional education, Blackpool and The Fylde College is delighted to announce that two of the apprentices who train with us and the College itself have been selected as finalists in three categories at the prestigious Lancashire Apprenticeship Awards 2024. 

The ceremony, to be held on 27 March at Lancaster University, is a celebration of talent and achievement within the apprenticeship sector and we are proud to have been shortlisted.

Among the nominees is Ellis Wallbank, a BAE apprentice, who is competing for the title of Higher Apprentice of the Year. Ellis’ commitment to excellence in his Higher Apprenticeship in HR Consultant Partner at BAE has earned him recognition for his dedication and outstanding performance.

Additionally, Amanda Barbour, a Lancashire County Council apprentice, has been nominated for Degree Apprentice of the Year. Amanda is enrolled on the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship programme, designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge required for effective management and leadership roles. Her exemplary commitment to both her studies and her employer has set her apart as a standout candidate and earned her a place at the finals

Furthermore, Blackpool and The Fylde College has been nominated for the title of Training Provider of the Year for our dedication to delivering high-quality apprenticeship training and support services for businesses across Lancashire and beyond. We are passionate about apprenticeship training and the key role it plays in the development of local, regional and national economies. It is therefore hugely satisfying to be shortlisted for this award given the dedication and professionalism of the colleagues who manage and deliver this part of our provision.
